CULTURAL DIVERSITY
The CDL cultural diversity program has been developed
to provide a Guideline for how to work within different
cultures, using a universal base for building trust and
earning the right to influence. This program has been
used successfully by Motorola, BP, and Northwestern Memorial
Hospital among others. Since this program is behavior
based, it is easily tailored to meet any diversity needs.
This training program focuses on four key, critical aspects
of workplace integrity:
*The alignment of business goals with cultural awareness
and competence.
*Four Strategic Virtues, which create and maintain a consistency
of respect throughout the work environment.
*Influencing Behaviors to pro-actively support the Strategic
Virtues whilegeneratingskills that reduce misunderstandings,
encourage active participation and identify common ground
at all levels within the organization.
*A Trust Model that evolves out of the Strategic Virtues,
promoting a most efficient and productive work force.
Using these components , the program provides highly
interactive, job-related and performance-based learning.
Participants work with a variety of examples and case
studies using discussion questions and shared experiences
to understand and value the diversity of cultures.
The learning objectives of our program emphasize a "how
to " approach to becoming more culturally competent.
The program model and content are based on a decade of
research by Catherine Lee, whose work has taken her across
China, India, Russia, Eastern and Western Europe, Korea,
Mexico, Canada and Japan.
